Shohrab Jahan, born in 1987 in Bangladesh. He is an interdisciplinary artist who practices visual and textual narrative weaving by a fictional thread. Sohrab’s process streams with landscapes, formulaic language, habit, social life, and political imagination; outcomes include three-dimensional forms and/or installation, publication, social design, moving images and printed images. Shohrab is now an assistant professor at the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Chittagong in Bangladesh, where he studied BA (2012) and MA (2013) in sculpture.

Shohrab participated in the National Exhibition in Bangladesh (2011,2013, 2017), Asian Biennale in Bangladesh (2016) and residency in Kathmandu, Nepal (2013), Pica Studio, UK (2018), and The University of York, UK (2019) and Kampala, Uganda, with Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Art in (2019), Majhi artist residency in Eindhoven, the Netherlands (2021), Chapakhana Archive started in Dhaka, Bangladesh (2021)project ended as a residence in Zurich, Switzerland (2022).

His first solo project, Tiger Still Pass at Tiger Pass (2016), started as a site-specific event culminating in an indoor show and fiction in the Royal Bengal book published by Batighor (2016). Then his self-published book Little Book (2017) was a piece of cake with drawings and text. Hence, his curiosity to deconstruct the physical book and cross its limitation. He was inspired by baked food to test user experience and performance with it; In the process, Book Bakery came as an initiative collaboration with artists, graphic designers, and photographers.

He is a founder-member of Jog Art Space; an artist lade group spontaneously structured in 2012 with four colleagues. Jog organised Cheragi art show (CAS), celebrated yearly as a street show in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He worked as an artist, curator, and product designer in Cheragi Art Show from (2011-2021).
